This is a film poster of 'The Adjustment Bureau' staring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt. It is obvious that these two actors are very famous which may attract the audience to watch this.
In terms of the poster as a whole, it's difficult for the audience to notice that this is a romance/sci-fi film. It may be hard for those who enjoys to watch romantic movies to know this which could be a disadvantage as they may not attract more audience to see this film.
Fundamentally, the story of The Adjustment Bureau is the story of a couple who really want to be together, but who are constantly driven apart. A powerful love story has fate present obstacles for our leads to overcome in order to be together and find happiness. I think that the appeal of this film is how honest it is about that – it’s fairly overt about its nature of a love story, except that it casts “fate” as men in sharp suits and old-fashioned hats.
To begin with, the audience may first notice Emily Blunt as she is the one who stands out the most on this poster. The red colour may symbolise danger, love and passion which will be more clearer for the audience why they have implied this after watching the film.

The movie clearly ties these characters to a religious context, with the hats standing in for halos and the mysterious “chairman” who is always “upstairs” standing in for a certain deity. But because the two are forbidden to be together, these men in hats stops them from being together. Within this movie, this helps us experience the conflict between free will and fatalism that challenges the conventions of a love-story.
